My short story, “Queer Eye for the Dead Guy” is alive and well and ready for reading on 4 Star Stories. David and Mary Gray are so good to take stories from me, and I try not to overwhelm them.
This story is one of my “perserverance” stories. I originally wrote it for Julia Manadala’s Hell of an Anthology. I made it to the final cut and was then bumped for Mike Resnick…whatcha gonna do?
At the time id didn’t have a fantastic title (titles are not my strength), until I had a lovely conversation with Aaron Allston at ConDFW (EONS Ago) and he popped off with this current title.
This is a story where a couple of characters took control of their own story and lives. I wanted Debris and Detritus to be more like Tim and Al from Home Improvement, they didn’t want to go there.
I don’t even want to count how many years this has taken to see the light of day, but now it has and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
