I’ve been intending to do a blog post for over a week now…and, yeah…

For those playing the Facebook Home Game, I’ve spent the last month dealing with an issue with my right eye – spoiler alert, the eye is fine – that started with “oh, it’s Pink Eye” and is ending with “you need to see a rheumatologist”.  So that’s in the works with it’s own minor dramas.

The Texas Book Lovers Convention was astonishingly good. I haven’t sold books like that in years – if ever – mostly thanks to the Gladewater Public Library director who came through and bought “one of everything”. Seriously. If you’re in East Texas between Longview and Beaumont? Check out Gladewater. They have an awesome library!

The big thing about TBLC wasn’t that it was Exhausting In A Good Way (it was), or that I met some amazing people (I did!), or that NOT ONCE did any of us hear “I don’t read”.  It was how I felt when it was over – AT PEACE.

This is huge. I’ve made some major life changes in the last few months. I’ve talked about that – how I decided to make writing my focus. The small steps I’ve taken to make that happen. Some of the things I’m thinking about doing. Things have fallen into place that make that feel like I’ve made Right Decisions.

Since TBLC, I’ve been writing almost every day (even if it’s just a little or notes) on Works in Progress AND new ones. I’m sometimes working on a different project on a different day, and it feels RIGHT and a little COMFORTABLE. And this is new and exciting.

It’s not gumdrops and roses though, because there’s still other Life Things (see above Eye Saga Recap), and I don’t know how it’s all going to work out, but we’ll see. Now I have to ping some publishers about new stock – because I have almost none. I need more business cards because I have almost none. Which is a good problem to have.

This is a Season of Change for a lot of us. May we all find what we need in the chaos.
