Texas Book Lovers Con 2026 - Rhodna Eudaly

Here we go…

I found the problem that had been plaguing my website. I don’t think most of you saw the antics yesterday of me testing all my plugins. I found the ones that weren’t playing nice and deleted them. They were the cross-posting plugins. I don’t mind doing that manually if it makes things work.

So, Big Woosh on that front.

What else is happening? Events and Appearances! I’m getting back out into the Writer World. Those are on the Events Page. SoonerCon is next in OKC! I’m open to book fairs, vendor days, bookstore events. If you know folks bringing in authors, I’m there.

What else?

I’m actually excited about some writing projects. Two have been in process for quite a while, but are growing legs again. One is new. If you’ve followed me on Facebook, you’ve seen that I’m playing with a new way (to me) to “Outline” that actually (for me) ADDS creativity and discovery into the structure while providing some structure. So we’ll see if that ends up working.

I’m also doing this virtual writers conference – which is long and sometimes intense, but being virtual/digital, you can go at your own pace and have access to the materials afterward for a while. A LOT of it is geared to the Indie Author crowd – which GREAT. That means there’s a lot of business stuff that will be useful as I move forward with freelancing. I just have to remember the things shared are what worked for THAT presenter, and may not work for me.

Writing is SO MUCH “YMMV” (your mileage may vary for the non acronym folks). You have to take advice that works for you and discard the rest.

Last week I took Mom and a writer friend of hers to another writer’s funeral. The deceased was well-known in the Inspirational Romance world and mentored a lot of other writers. But in the stories I heard, I don’t know that her advice would’ve worked for me because even though “she said it with love” or whatever, some of the advice seemed steeped in “do it my way”. I’m stubborn enough to fight back on “must/should/well, if you WANT to be published…” types of advice. But…I did give a card to her grandson because he no longer had anyone to read his stuff – and it’s spec fic, which was not her genre. It is mine. And I did agree with her on bringing up other authors.

So all the changes that felt overwhelming is starting to resolve into workable pieces. Not only does it include writing and building something (and BELIEVE YOU ME, I’m still going to be spicy on LinkedIN because that’s FUN, still builds networks but doesn’t really “matter”), it’s also looking at the peripheral things.

So, oof, here we go. I will tell you – keep watching the blog, I’m going to start a newsletter before long, because that’s apparently a THING TO DO. If you’ve gotten this far and have any thoughts on what you want to see in a newsletter from me – drop a comment or ping me on Facebook, Instagram, or Bluesky.
