Every have a time in your life where you think you’re just doing everything The Hard Way ™? Where every dang day feels like Monday the 13th (don’t laugh – Mondays are way scarier than Fridays). Well, here we are.
GOOD NEWS FIRST: Go check out Amber Royer’s Story Like a Journalist Podcast – I’m on it. Amber is good people! Also? I’ll be at the Trilogy Bookstore & Cafe Spring Market on May 16 from 9-2.
I struggled with this new layout with my old webhost, so my guru moved me to hers. Cheaper, etc. GREAT. Except… there were technology issues that BROKE THINGS without the benefit of being fast. No email primary email, no website. Okay, then the internet hub breaks, so no internet for about 36 hours (except hot spot). Microsoft has things broken in it so stuff doesn’t work right anymore. Find new program, learning curves (can we just ban THREADED EMAILS, PLEASE?).
Then I come here only to find something I thought was broken on the other site was a click box in the profile? Because maybe the other version did tell me to check that? But here we are, and I have a formatting tool bar.
Then…okay, stuff coming back online EXCEPT… Except…except…
Medical stuff is just randomly more difficult than it needs to be. A medication did a number on my brain (no more of that, thank you very much). Scheduling is fun. I both love and hate medical portals – because I love being able to email, hate it because who know who’s reading, how it’s coming off, and if I just did the medical version of having a waiter spit in my food.
I’m working on a short story as a gift (at first – I’ll post it or something later – because I haven’t even thought about THAT in a hot minute) that I think I’m definitely doing The Hard Way – (3rd person, no pronouns for the main character), but I’m actually really paying attention to word placement. So, that’s something.
So, here I am, trying to remember my own meme that I popped off with in a therapy session a couple of weeks ago. I feel like I’m flailing, but here we are. I know I’m not FAILING, but it’s definitely not the season for easy.
If you’re feeling this, too, you’re not alone. Now to go start getting things moving toward completion.
