Renaming Characters…
I’ve embarked on a new plan to rewrite the very first novel I ever wrote (the one started in high school and finished in college…and reads like I wrote it as a teenager).
And by rewrite — I do actually mean rewrite. I’m not pulling out the old file and revising it. I’m starting from scratch — as I learned from a fellow writer — and whatever was good in the original piece will come back to me in this incarnation.
The “problem” at the moment is that I don’t remember some of my original character names. The characters, themselves, yes. Their names, no. So now, I may be renaming some of my darlings in this piece. Which will be a challenge, because I really am not strong at naming things — this book has never had a decent title…
