WIP – Warts and All
I did ask if anyone wanted to read parts of my work in progress. Since I did have a positive response to it. Here we go. A new experiment… The first two paragraphs ~125 words. Your question – Would you keep reading?
Prince Christoph’s scream would’ve roused the entire castle – if not village – from sound slumber had anyone heard it. Unfortunately, the earth-shattering scream in his head actually came out in a rumbly croak. Thus began the prince’s very bad day…which he’d thought begun rather normally.
Christoph awoke to a flawless blue sky. Sun shone. Birds sang in the orchards outside. His bed was large and comfortable. He hated to leave it, but duty and breakfast called. Until he opened his eyes, and threw back the blankets. Nothing seemed right. His perspective seemed…off. His bed clothes felt looser and baggier than normal. His feet slapped and slipped on the stone floor. Then he caught sight of himself in the mirror.
