[Pen Wish] Monteverde Invincia Stylus

An open letter to Monteverde Pens

Thanks to PenWorld Magazine, one of your pens is now on the top of my Wish List. I saw it in an ad in the most current issue of PenWorld – and went looking for it online. Only to discover it’s not yet available. Okay, so I was wrong. It is. Though I swear, last night, I could not find it. My Google-foo failed me.

I’m totally in love with the concept of the Monteverde Invincia Stylus fountain pen. The one pictured in the ad. This is their Invincia Titanium (I think) fountain pen in black – which is one stunning pen – with the OneTouch stylus in the cap for use on iPads/iPhones/iTouch screens. The OneTouch ballpoint pens have been on my “wish list” for a while – until I saw this pen in the ad – because I’m a much bigger fan of fountain pens. However, when I searched for the pen, I could find a couple of pictures, but it wasn’t until this morning that I found it online. It seems to be the absolutely PERFECT blend of Old Fashioned Low Tech art writing and Cutting Edge High Tech Awesomeness.

Sigh… nothing like finding a pen that could totally get behind and then not being able to even find a price for it right away – though I’ve learned along the lines of “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it”. We know that has to be the case with the Red MuseoDucati 125 Gran Sport Officina pencil – it’s Ducati, it’s Italian. It’s going to be expensive — if you can find the US distributor for it.

Seriously, Monteverde…don’t tease. If this is a pen you’re going to advertise in PenWorld…let it be available, or at the very least searchable so I know what I can’t afford and can actually put it on a Wish List somewhere. The rest of the Invincia line runs about $100 for the fountain pen, so I expect that’s what this one would go for. Hey, what do you know – I was right. According to what I just found online, it’s going for $95, which isn’t BAD, just currently out of my price range.

Who knows, maybe I’ll get to see one at the Dallas Pen Show – in my limited amount of time I get to attend. I can’t wait to one day hold it in my hand, try it out, and actually see how it works. This is a perfect concept of a pen for me. Maybe for Christmas or something.
