Name that Bubbette

Posted by reudaly on May 24, 2010 in Conventions, Writing |

I’m doing something for the YDP Roadshow at SoonerCon which requires me to have a “Bubbette” name (in fact, I’m headin’ to the Dollar Tree to pick up parts of my costume). All the names I’m coming up with at the moment are being used by other YDP authors and artists…

So… brush off your inner redneck and name that Bubbette. Whoever ‘wins’, I’ll come up with a suitable “reward”.

Dixie? Darla? Daisy? Flo? Eunice? Ona May? Bernice? Mabel?

I always like finding words that sound like they could be used for names (like Ruebella Fay). Howabout Velveeta Chlorine? I’ve noticed some bubbas like to put the word ‘la’ in front of a name, makes it sound all Frenchified and fancy. Like LaWanda or LaDebbie. (I took French for two years in college, never heard of a REAL French surname starting with “la”, BTW.) Hope this helps.

Oh, crap, now I’m starting to think in terms of Vienna Velveeta or something… ewww…
