Rhonda Eudaly

So, I’m in the full throes of procrastination. Yes. Yes, I am. I have witnesses – and the closet organizing tools – to prove it. Ask my husband. He’s the witness.

Shanna Swendson has been talking on her journal about organizing her office area this January. Fortunately for her, she now says her writing is more productive. I wish I could say the same. No, actually, I’m doing all right – but my lovely bouts of organization are almost directly corresponding to procrastination. In this case…the short story I have due in a few day, which I finished last week and then promptly copied over the new file with an old file and lost the entire back half. Now I get to rewrite it. Hence the procrastination.

I’ve said before that my house is never cleaner than when I’m on a deadline. When I need to be working on something specific, that’s when all the other things seem much more pressing…like organizing my bedroom closet. Ah, the creative mind. Gotta love it.

Yes, I’m recovering from being boneheaded last week. Even when I’m trying to be all good and efficient and keeping good backups, things can happen – like sending the back up the wrong way. Yeah. That happens. D’OH. I’d MEANT to email the file to myself, but the laptop battery crapped out right then. Technology is fickle. Things happen. Hopefully, the rewriting of the end of the story will make it better. Fingers crossed on that one. Of course, now that I’m under the gun to fix that piece of boneheadedness, my procrastination mechanism is kicking in.

And yes, in a way, getting this blog post is both my own deadline and a procrastination factor. But I’m working on the story. I really I am. Just not right now, you know, because I’m blogging to all of you.

Oh, hey…new random thought… it’s new year, and I’m procrastinating. Is there anything different or more specific you’d like to see on this blog? I know at least one or two people read this. This is your time to suggest, cajole, and/or bribe.
