2025 has been a challenge all around – for all the reasons. But that’s not the point of this post (yay, me 1 new post a month is actually happening!). This is a positive post. Because in the US, it’s THANKSGIVING!

One of the things I’ve been honest about is that I had a serious dry spell for a significant amount of time. That’s not news. Nor is it news that I’ve been clawing back my writing life.

What is news…is that this month, I actually feel like I’m getting my Writer Groove Back. And not just words on paper or pixels on screens, though that is happening, too.

But Rhonda, what else is there? Oh, dear reader, so much more. This month I had (have, one is still to come) TWO speaking engagements as a writer. I spoke via Zoom to a “Writing Fantasy” college class in Corpus Christie. I got the best “review” of it from the professor (whom I’ve known off and on since MY college days), “They LOVED IT. I couldn’t get anything else done in class they were so excited. They clearly got a whole lot out of your talk.” Which is amazing since it was an unstructured ramble (y’all know I’m all about that!). I have a structured ramble (one of my two prepared presentations) scheduled for the Saturday after Thanskgiving – against a panel on honeybees.

Then, I went to my yoga class and was talking to one of the women there, and she asked me what my flavor of nerd was. Which…totally a legit question. So I told her I’m a SF/F nerd and that I wrote. She had me put my name in Amazon for her. SURE… I’m never going to bust anyone on how they consume reading material — I do support small press and local as much as possible for the print stuff.

The big thing here, is that I’m back to actually trying to promote books in the world – not just at conventions, and not just mine.

Which means to me, that I’m coming FULLY BACK.
