2009 Year in Review? Sort of.

Posted by reudaly on December 31, 2009 in Life |

It’s New Year’s Eve and everyone seems to be taking stock of their lives today – and the decade. Wow. Another DECADE is gone. Who would’ve thought it would go by so fast? But overall I have to say, it’s been a really good decade. A majorly life-changing decade, but a good one. I mean, hey, I got married this decade – no one really thought that would ever happen, right? And we’re doing well. My husband is the bright, shiny spot in my life when things get dark and scary. But, hey, we’re focusing on THIS year. 2009.
So…2009…

• I was gainfully employed more in 2009 than in 2008. Yay.

• Even though nothing seemed to come out, I sold stories in 2009 and definitely wrote more (and more consistently) than in 2008. Yay.

• Technology and I went head to head, and I seem to have won … for now. I’m on all the major social network (and was missed when hacked). I’ve revamped my website. Started a new downloading experiment yesterday – just squeaking it into 2009.

• Met and made new friends this year that I’m extremely happy to have in my life. Tried to stay connected (mostly via social networks) to old friends as well. Getting more involved in my church after spending time (much needed time) resting after being sometimes TOO involved in my old church.

So what do I hope to accomplish in 2010?

• To be gainfully employed more in 2010 than in 2009.

• To write, complete, and submit more in 2010 than in 2009 – I already know there will be more new material out in 2010 than in 2009 because of stuff that sold in 2009 that comes out this year and projects I’m doing independently.

• To keep technology as my friend going forward so we don’t have service disruptions in 2010 like we did in 2009. 😎 Some of that is not in my control, but I will do what I can. 😎

• To meet and make new friends this year to add to the awesome cloud of support that I have around me.

So here’s hoping you and yours have a safe and happy New Year’s Eve today, and a better 2010 than you had 2009. May you be happy, healthy, and financially stable. And if it so behooves you, support your local writers and artists by buying books, music, art, etc.
