[Bonus Post] Happy Birthday Theo Gisel – Dr. Seuss

Posted by reudaly on March 2, 2013 in Family, Life |

I actually wrote this for a work blog – but it wasn’t right for the work blog. But that doesn’t mean it has to go to waste…

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!!!!

Dr. Seuss was a poet writer
Whose books and stories would rhyme
In tones that were lighter
To teach kids how to climb
Higher and higher in their minds.
From the Cat and the Hat that always came back
To creatures of many different kinds,
Dr. Seuss celebrated the joy of family.
Whether you are you than you
Or like Horton hearing the Who –
No once be Grinchy for long
When you’re choosing Thing Two or Thing One.
And though we had to say goody
To the Fox in Sock Creator
Children of all ages remember this Seuss Guy
As an idea translator.
He put important themes in simple words
That let us count and color fish,
Hop on Pop and make a wish
On stars and flowers and graceful birds.
Whether you like Green Eggs and Ham
Or area a well-rounded Dr. Seuss fan,
We wish Theo Grisel a Happy Birthday
Even though he’s gone away.
His stories and rhymes remain
A memorable part of our childhood refrain.
